James Nairus, MD

About me

Dr. Nairus is a Board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a focused expertise in total knee and hip replacements. His practice is based at New England Baptist Hospital and extends to local outpatient surgery centers, catering to a broad range of patient needs. He completed his medical education at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, followed by a residency at the University of Massachusetts, and culminating in a fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital.


Currently, he serves as a clinical instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine, where he contributes to the academic development of future medical professionals. Dr. Nairus is not only known for his surgical expertise but also for his active engagement in the orthopedic community, having lectured at numerous orthopedic conferences and authored several pieces of orthopedic literature. His commitment to education and research underscores his dedication to advancing the field of orthopedic surgery.


Dr. Nairus maintains a strong connection to his alma mater, Holy Cross, where he distinguished himself as a first team GTE Academic All-American in basketball. In his clinical practice, Dr. Nairus incorporates MAKO robotic technology for patients eligible for this advanced surgical approach, ensuring that his patients benefit from the latest innovations in joint replacement surgery.


He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the New England Orthopaedic Society (NEOS).
