Peter Kim, MD

About me

Dr. Peter Kim is a Board-certified hand and upper extremity surgeon, with a refined focus on treating sports injuries of the hand and wrist, fractures, arthritic conditions, peripheral nerve compression, and undertaking complex microsurgical reconstructions.


His academic foundation was established at Brown University’s prestigious combined eight-year BA/MD program, followed by a residency in plastic surgery at Northwestern’s McGaw Medical Center. Dr. Kim completed his hand and microvascular fellowship at University of Washington Sports Medicine and Orthopedics.


His expertise and comprehensive approach to care have made him the Chief of Plastic Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital, where he is responsible for a wide range of upper extremity surgeries. His clinical practice, known for its excellence, attracts patients from across New England and beyond, testament to his skill and dedication.


Dr. Kim's career includes a 12-year tenure on the Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard Hand Surgery faculty, contributing significantly to the field through his roles as a surgeon, innovator, and educator. He continues to shape the future of hand surgery as an assistant professor at Tufts University, where he serves on the faculty of the Tufts Hand Fellowship. He serves as a diplomate for the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
